Kits for Suzukis: RL 250, Beamish 250 and 325, PE 175, DR200
Suzuki RL 250, Beamish 250 & 325
We now have kits for the RL250, the Beamish 250 and the Beamish 325. Each kit is jetted for that particular model, and a flange adapter and sleeve for the air box is included. We also include extra jets for fine tuning and elevation differences. Note that the RL250 and the Beamish 250, while sharing the same basic engine, jet much differently, due to the Beamish's reed valve. These kits will improve performance, especially in the low and mid-ranges. Your throttle cable should work with all three kits.
The Suzuki PE 175 kit provides a 30mm OKO carburetor, extra jets for fine tuning, a new manifold sleeve and a sleeve for the air box hoe which will need to be cut back about half an inch. This kit will give the PE much better low and mid-range punch.
The Suzuki DR200 kit is a bit more complicated than most of our kits, and the changes needed may be more than some want to deal with. For those who do, this kit will wake up the DR200 with better power and throttle response. The stock CV carburetor was a known poor performer. We use a 24mm OKO. It gave us the best performance.
The petcock should be changed to a non-vacuum type. The throttle cable needs to have a smaller end for the carburetor slide, and only needs a "pull" cable. We used the Suzuki's outer cable, but inserted a different inner cable that has a small ferule that fits into the slide. If you get this kit, we are happy to help you get it properly installed. We supply an airbox hose, but we send it a little long, so it will need to be cut some. As seen in the photos it is a short piece that needs to be cut on an angle. We had one DR owner tell us the airbox can be moved about some to help instal it. We offer a cable with the DR kit that will simplify installation.
